Welcome to Mr. Durans class,
I am so excited to be your child's teacher for this upcoming school year. This is my second year teaching, and my first at Magnolia. I was born in Los Angeles, and moved to beautiful Grass Valley when I was in the 2nd grade. I attended Pleasant Ridge, Cottage Hill, Magnolia, and Bear River. My post High School journey took me back to Southern California where I attended Hope International University, getting a scholarship for Volleyball. I graduated with a B.A in Business Management. About one year after my college undergrad was completed I made the decision to come back to Grass Valley. It was coming back home that I started working at Milhous Ranch, a group home for troubled youth. While working at the Ranch, I was given a job opportunity with Nevada County Probation, at the Carl F. Bryan Juvenile Hall, which I took. It was in this career I decided that I wanted to be on the other side of the fence. I knew I wanted to be an educator.
As your child's teacher, I want to help rebuild the foundation of their education, so that they may continue to add layers. We will exercise habits, strengths, and tools your child may have always had, but never properly used.
