Giving Tree
This holiday season, Magnolia has set up a Giving Tree to help support our students and families. If you'd like to contribute, please stop by the Magnolia office to select a gift request and return a wrapped gift by December 18th. An Amazon wish list has also been created for those of you who'd like to shop, but can not make it into the office during the week.

CALLING ALL WRITERS
Are you interested in trying out for our COUNTY writing tournament? If so, please come to D-3 (Ms. Golden's room), THURSDAY or FRIDAY at lunch to try out. Selections will be made on Friday and you will be notified on Monday if you have been selected as one of our top two writers. If selected, you will attend the tournament in January where you will write a persuasive letter, informational essay, and creative story.

After the presentation, there will be an interactive showcase where families can meet teachers and learn more about classes, programs such as CTE, drama, art, athletics, etc…

6th graders…Mark your calendars for Friday, December 1 from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm for the first Science Camp fundraiser of the year, Minute to Win It!! It will be a fun challenge with your friends to play the games at the Minute to Win Fun Night! There will be games and prizes throughout. Tickets are $5 dollars for admission OR $10 for the Pizza value pack (admission, one slice of pizza, a drink, and a piece of candy). Extra candy and drinks will be sold separately at the snack bar throughout the event. All proceeds help fund our Science Camp Extras!! Tickets go on sale November 28, 2023, at Lunchtime in the 6th Grade Quad. Permission slips will be available through your 6th-grade teacher or office AFTER the Thanksgiving Break

The first school dance of the year will be on Friday, November 17th! The 6th grade dance will be held from 4:00pm - 5:30pm and the 7th/8th grade dance will be held from 6:00pm - 8:00pm. Tickets can be purchased in the quad, at lunch, through Wednesday, November 15th. No tickets will be sold after this time. A minimum of 90 behavior points, a GPA of 2.0 and no "F's" are required to attend. Students also must be present for the entire school day on Friday, November 17th.

On November 8th ,in the evening, any community member/parent is welcome to participate in an evening about providing participants information on how to set up safe boundaries within the digital landscape, understanding one’s digital footprint, and reimagining social media. 7:00PM @ Cottage Hill MPR.

Peace Poster Contest
Calling all artists (ages 11, 12, and 13 as of November 15) to enter the Lions Club Peace Poster Contest! The poster contest promotes global peace. This year's theme is "Dare to Dream," and the top poster from Magnolia will receive a $75 prize. The 2nd and 3rd place winners will each receive a $25 reward from the local Higgins Diggins Lions Club. All entries need to be on a specially-sized paper (13/20" x 20/24") and must not contain any words or numbers. There will be paper available in the Magnolia office if needed. The deadline for posters is November 2nd.

Dance
The first school dance of the year will be on November 17th. Permission slips will be passed out today and will need to be signed and returned before November 15th. A minimum of 90 behavior points, a GPA of 2.0 and no "F's" are required to attend. No late permission slips will be accepted. Extra permission slips are available in the office.
 
Attention Cross Country runners and Boys Volleyball players
It is now time to return your sports uniform.  Please return to Mrs. Schumacher or the front office as soon as possible.  Thank you!
 
Peace Poster Contest
Calling all artists (ages 11, 12, and 13 as of November 15) to enter the Lions Club Peace Poster Contest! The poster contest promotes global peace. This year's theme is "Dare to Dream," and the top poster from Magnolia will receive a $75 prize. The 2nd and 3rd place winners will each receive a $25 reward from the local Higgins Diggins Lions Club. All entries need to be on a specially-sized paper (13/20" x 20/24") and must not contain any words or numbers. There will be paper available in the Magnolia office if needed. The deadline for posters is November 2nd.
 
Raffle
Our school wide raffle continues! The Advisory with the most sales will get a class party! So far Mrs. Santos is in the lead and Mrs. Stoddart is a close second! 
 
Online Auction
To kick off Bid N' Barrels our ONLINE AUCTION is up and running! This is a great way to support the school if you are not able to attend Bid N' Barrels. Online Auction ends November 3rd at 8pm!

Bid N' Barrels is Saturday, November 4th from 5:00pm - 8:00pm at Vian Estates Winery in Auburn (adults 21+). We are still looking for a few volunteers!

Rattler Reward Party
Rattler Reward Party this Thursday at lunch! Turn in your Rattler Pride tickets into your grade-specific bin in the front office by the end of the day on Wednesday.  Be kind, be respectful, be responsible, Gooooooo Rattlers!!!

Pink Out
October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and we want to show our support by having Pink Out on Wednesday, 10/25! Dress up in as much pink as possible!
