State Testing: California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP), will begin this week.  Sixth graders begin testing Wednesday, May 2nd, 7th graders begin Wednesday, May 9th, and 8th graders begin Wednesday, May 16th.

Whether you agree or disagree with standardized test, the political reality is that the quality of a Magnolia education is judged by these tests.  Data from these assessments are used by the school to identify deficiencies Magnolia may have in our curriculum and/or instruction; thus guiding our future professional development for teachers and curriculum choices.  These test measure both your student's academic growth and their progress toward achieving grade level standards.  CAASPP results combined with other data are used to develop strategies to target interventions in academic areas that a student has not demonstrated proficiency.

Please encourage your student to put forth their best effort!  We need an accurate measure of your child's skills and knowledge to evaluate Magnolia's effort to provide a quality education to the students of our community.
