PTM is putting on our Annual Winter Fundraiser!!!

This funding helps to provide supplies and equipment for core classes (English, Math, Science, Social Studies, P.E.) and our elective classes (athletics, theatrical arts, music, technology/robotics, woodworking, career choices, Spanish). It is only with the partnership of our community that we are able to continue to make Magnolia Intermediate School the finest academic base for our youth and future generations.

Hi Magnolia Parents: Do you have an opinionated student who loves to argue? Great! YMCA's Model United Nations (MUN) is now open to Magnolia students in all grades.

The MUN program begins in mid-January, ends in late April, and involves weekly after-school meetings and two weekend away-conferences. At weekly meetings, delegates (students) will learn about the UN while researching and discussing real-life and proposed scenarios. At a training conference in the Bay Area (March 22-23), they'll learn cultural acceptance, public speaking, and leadership skills. These efforts lead up to the Model UN Summit conference in Los Angeles (April 25-28), where delegations from around California meet as UN leaders and ambassadors from their assigned countries.

Interested in learning more? Here's how:

2) Visit bit.ly/capcointerest and fill out the survey to help us decide between two meeting options--and to learn about program cost and to receive a program application once they are available. (Be sure to select "Prospective Delegate" and "Model United Nations," then "Gold Country" to ensure you land on the right survey.)

3) Have your student join us at our first meeting in January! Details will be announced once the meeting date is set. Attendance at the first few meetings does not entail obligation to join the program, and all are welcome to come check it out.
