Attention 8th Grade Parents

Contributions for the eighth grade promotion and dance are need. Please come and set up chairs and decorate for the dance on Thursday, June 8th at 8:00 am. Any monetary donations for food and decorations can be turned in to the Magnolia office by Friday, May 26th. Any water or cookie donations can be turned in to the office Tuesday, June 6th.

7th and 8th Grade Family Life

A representative of the Living Well Medical Clinic of Grass Valley will provide the instruction for 7th and 8th grade students. Seventh graders will receive this curriculum in their science class from May 22nd-25th. Eighth graders will receive this curriculum in their science class from May 30th-June 2nd. A parent meeting will be held on Monday, May 15th, in room A6 at 6:30 to review the curriculum and meet the presenter. State law allows you to remove your student from this instruction. If you wish to exempt your student please submit a written request to the Magnolia office prior to the beginning of this unit of instruction.

The California Department of Education Approves TK Waiver

On January 11th the Department of Education approved a waiver that allowed PRUSD to keep the Transitional Kindergarten program school day to 3 hours and 35 minutes (current schedule).

If the state did not approve the waiver then the Transitional Kindergarten class would need to increase their school day to 6 hours and 5 minutes daily. The waiver is good until June 30, 2018. Snow Day Make Up

May 30th will be the day we make up our snow day that we took on January 11th. This will be a regular scheduled day of school for all PRSD students. If you have any questions, please contact your children's school office.
