What will happen:
Every evening, you will receive an email with any updates from your subscribed pages.

If you have 3 children from either Alta Sierra/Cottage Hill or Magnolia AND you have subscribed to their Update, Newsletter or Teacher Pages, you will receive one email that contains all of the updates. The goal is to make communication easy for our parents as they could be getting information from two schools and 5 teachers, all in one concise email.

Daily bulletin for September 23rd, 2015

 
Good Evening Rattlers!
 
 
Tomorrow will will be on "A" Schedule.
 

7th/8th grade students: If you were on the Track & Field team last spring, please look around for the yellow Magnolia jersey that you may not have turned in. Only a handful of them were turned in to the office last year, so our current Cross Country runners do not have jerseys to wear. Please bring them in ASAP. Thank you!

 

Magnolia Leo Club meeting this Thursday, Sept. 24th, during 7th/8th grade lunch in A-4.  Bring a friend - come eat your lunch - learn what we are all about.  (Mrs. Randall)

 

Reminder: Keep your eye on the prizes! Collect $28 and you get to wear pj's to school for a day and get donuts; Collect $60 and you get 4 grab bags, plus pj's to school & donuts; Collect $100 and you get either Movie passes, Ice skating, Lazer tag or 49er Fun Park, plus 4 grab bags & pj's to school & donuts; Collect $200 and get Gamez on Wheelz, plus the other stuff. Keep those donations coming in! Packets are due on Friday.


 
Sports:
 
Congratulation to our Magnolia Cross Country teams who raced against 8 other teams yesterday.
 
6th Grade girls Amy, Julia, Kara, Lillian, Emma and Leilani earned first place, led by Emma.
6th Grade boys John, Derek, Paxton, Morgan and Angus earned 2nd place led by Paxton.
 
7th grade Girl Emily Adamson toed the line with 7th grade boys and earned 4th medaled as 4th girl in, and 
7th Grade boys Jake, Cade, Noah, Kadyn, Jacob, Aidan and Timothy won first place led by Jake who was first overall.
 
8th Grade Boys Jett, Caleb and Tommy flew over the course and finished in top medal positions led by Caleb!

Thursday we have two home events taking place at the same time, starting at 4:00:

Girls Basketball: At home vs. Union Hill

Cross Country: Our home meet starts and finishes on the lower field.

There will be a snack bar, so bring some money and come out and cheer on all of our Rattlers!!

 
 
Flag Football League:
Register today for Bear River Recreation and Park Districts' Fall Flag Football League! Coaches' meeting October 5th. Season lasts 5 weeks, Nov. 2 - Dec. 12th no games/practices Thanksgiving week. Bear River Bears is a NFL@ Flag registered team. More info on website and you can REGISTER ONLINE! brrpd.org
 
Youth Development Basketball League:
Now in its 21st year, registrations are open for youth basketball players from grades 2nd through 8th. Separate teams for girls and boys. Inter-league play means lots of competition and lots of different venues! Register before October 1st and save. More info on website and you can REGISTER ONLINE: brrpd.org
 
 
Ever thought of learning to play Water Polo? Now's your chance! There will be a Water Polo Clinic over Fall Break (Oct. 12-15th) at the Bear River High School pool. Just come to the Magnolia office to get a flyer, if you are interested!

Good Morning Rattlers!
 
 
Today we are on Friday "C" Schedule. Release time is 2:25.
 
 

Ana Hamilton has been elected as the 6th Grade's student council president for the 2015-16 school year! Congratulations to Ana and to all the candidates for delivering great speeches and for displaying creative posters during election week.

 

 

PTM has extended the deadline one more week for our Annual Fall Fundraiser: Joker's Wild!  Packets are now due in the office on September 25th. Keep collecting donations and reaching the highest prize levels! Parents can open the link below to learn more!

 

 

Students must be at school all day today in order to attend the events in the gyms tonight, and must present their ID card at the door to get in. The names of all eligible attendees will be checked off on a list upon arrival. The school dress code will be enforced, as well as all Activity Eligibility/Dance Guidelines on page 16 of the student handbook. Parents may volunteer to help with these events using the links below.
 
 
Picture re-take day is today! Order forms are in the office. If you did not receive an ID card at registration, you must get your picture taken today for the yearbook, and to receive an ID card. ID cards are required to be carried by every student, and you will not be allowed to attend the dance or fun night without one.
 
 
Sports:
 
The 8th Grade Lady Rattlers lost a tough game to Forest Lake Thursday, 27-25.  After trailing, 17-11 at the half the Lady Rattlers tightened up their defense and pulled back to within two points.  The Falcons made one basket in the 4th quarter which proved to be the difference.  Bailey Tramel led all scorers with 10 points,  Gabby Corralejo tossed in 6 points. River Jarman has produced 2 games in a row with 7 points at Seven Hills and 6 against Forest Lake.  Katelin Holtz played solid defense with 4 points in the third quarter.
The Rattlers play at home next Thursday against Union Hill.  (Mr. Nat)
 
The 7th grade Lady Rattlers fell to Seven Hills on Tuesday: 33-12. Both of our teams will host Union Hill at home next Thursday, so come out and cheer the girls on!
