Mr. Hendren's Bio

With dual credentials in both Math and Social Studies, I'm passionate about teaching and look forward to getting to know your children. My passion for these subjects is deeply rooted in real-world experiences. Prior to becoming a teacher, I was a financial advisor for a large investment bank, and my financial management degree and extensive professional experience fuel my love for finance. This passion has led to tremendous freedom in my own life, and I hope to pass that on to all my students by building finance into all my math classes. I'm proud to say that dozens of my former students, many of whom are in their 20s, now have over half a million dollars invested.

My love for the world extends beyond the classroom. I've lived abroad in Great Britain, France, and Puerto Rico, and I've traveled to 24 countries across 51 different trips. This has given me a global perspective that I love sharing with students. I've even led 27 student trips to Europe, providing invaluable cultural and historical experiences outside of school. Stateside, I've visited 31 different states.

In my many years of teaching, I've had the pleasure of teaching a wide range of courses. I've spent over a decade teaching AP Macroeconomics and AP Microeconomics, as well as AP World History and AP European History, along with College Prep World History. On the math side, I've taught everything from Math 6 - 8 to Algebra I, Algebra II, and Geometry. I’ve also served as an advisor for Economics Clubs for 12 years. I’m excited to continue to help students develop a strong foundation in both math and finance.

You'll find your overall grades in PowerSchool. But if you want to see the most current grades for individual assignments and categories, the Google Classroom gradebook is the best place to look since individual assignment grades don't sync with PowerSchool.
