Overdue/Lost/Damaged Books

LIBRARY POLICY

Students may check out up to six (6) books at one time, including class novels and textbooks. Circulating books are checked out for two calendar weeks and may be renewed up to two additional times. Class novel check out duration is determined by each teacher. Textbooks are checked out for the duration of the school year and can be returned at any time in the year. Otherwise, textbooks are due by the last day of school each year.

OVERDUE BOOKS

Once a book is overdue, an email notification will go out. There are no late fees for overdue books.

When a book is overdue for 60 days or more, it will be marked as lost and a bill for replacement will be emailed and/or mailed.

The library does allow for extended time to search for misplaced or lost books. Patrons are instructed to continue searching in vehicles, desks, bedrooms, or other frequented spaces before fees are paid. If a student is unenrolled, fees for lost books are due immediately.

LOST OR DAMAGED BOOKS

Students or other library patrons who lose or damage library material, intentionally or accidentally, are required to pay replacement costs OR may elect to replace the lost or damaged material with an acceptable equivalent copy.
