We had our first tournament Wednesday afternoon against Oroville Central Middle School. Each team played a fierce and fun game of Rocket League. Teams 1 and 3 had some crazy and tough competition. They were amazing! Team 2 help give Magnolia some points on the board. In the end, we lost 2 to 1 but all had fun! Congratulations to all the team members! Our next matches will be next week with the opponent “to be announced”.
You too can play our "local" Magnolia games!! Mondays and Fridays at lunchtime in the PIT (computer lab). You must have already turned in a permission slip to play.
A “Girls Who Code” Club will be starting on January 7, 2020. The club will be on Tuesday afternoons from 3:30 - 4:30. If you are interested, please see Mrs. McKnight during break or lunchtime.

Saturday, December 14th, will be the next United Way Food Access Saturday. The Food Access Saturday program was originally created to help working individuals & families who need help putting food on their table, but are unable to pick up food at local food distributions during the week. Since it began, the program has grown to encompass a larger population; welcoming others to the table. Through the Food Access Saturday program, anyone who needs food can pick up healthy groceries, including fresh produce. The program is open to all Nevada County residents who cannot make it to other food distributions Monday through Friday. United Way of Nevada County, in partnership with Interfaith Food Ministry (IFM) distributes food on the second Saturday of each month. Since its inception, nearly 3800 bags of food have been distributed to more than 1700 individuals and families.
United Way of Nevada County strives to assure individuals and families in Nevada County are able to meet their basic need for food, emergency shelter and access to health care. The distributions take place at 440 Henderson Street, in Grass Valley, from 10am-noon on the 2nd Saturday of each month. For more information contact United Way at 274-8111 or [email protected].
